Schola Feminarum
Women’s Chant Ensemble
Colleen Liggett, Director
Founded in 1999, Schola Feminarum is a group of women from many
backgrounds and faith traditions, who come together under the
leadership of Colleen Liggett to sing Gregorian Chant, a form
of music used in the church for over 1000 years.

We include experienced
singers as well as women who have never before sung in a group.
Some of us can read the chant notation; others learn by listening.
All of us learn about the music from Colleen, who has studied
chant on her own and with Father Gerard Farrell at Westminster
Choir College. Although we don't emphasize performance, we sing
for some holy day Masses at Saint Anne Church and occasionally
take part in concerts. All women are invited to come sing with us in rehearsal with no obligation. We meet at St. Anne Church. The ensemble is open to women of all ages and experience. There are no auditions.
