Friday, September 9, 7:30 PM: duo organ concert by Rudy de Vos & Jonathan Ryan

St. Anne Church’s own dynamic organist duo opens the series with a program of light and serious selections for 4 hands and 4 feet at one organ by Handel, Strauss, Wagner, Saint-Saëns, Sousa, and Hampton.

 

Tuesday, October 4, 7:30 PM: organ concert by Rudy de Vos

Recipient of numerous organ and piano prizes in several countries, St. Anne’s outstanding South African organist presents music by Bach, Liszt, Guilmant, Duruflé, and others on one of Rochester’s finest organs.

NOTE: This concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 22 at 11:00 AM due to mechanical difficulties which are now resolved.  A reception will follow the concert.

 

Sunday, October 30, 3:00 PM: organ concert by Christopher Herrick*

The dazzling world-touring virtuoso displays his acclaimed mastery on the mighty Konzelman pipe organ.

 

Sunday, January 29, 3:00 PM: choral concert by the choirs & ensembles-in-residence of St. Anne Church with two world-premieres

A unique gala choral concert showcasing the ensembles-in-residence and choirs of St. Anne Church, including the world premiere of two newly commissioned works for organ and choir: Gaudeamus by internationally renowned composer Colin Mawby and Missa Brevis by upcoming local talent Zachary Wadsworth.

 

Sunday, March 26, 3:00 PM: organ concert by Jonathan Ryan

Winner of the 2005 Schweitzer and 2003 Augustana Arts-Reuter National Organ Competitions, St. Anne’s Director of Music performs a program of music by Buxtehude, Pachelbel, Tournemire, Vierne, Howells, Duruflé, King, and Eben.

 

Tuesday, April 18, 7:30 PM: choral concert by Chanticleer*

ICM Artists, Ltd. presents the unparalleled, Grammy award-winning premiere American male choir with EarthSongs, a diverse program of nature-inspired music by Janequin, Palestrina, Monteverdi, Saint-Saëns, Hindemith, Whitacre, and others in the superb acoustics of St. Anne Church.

 

Sunday, April 30, 3:00 PM: choral concert by the St. Anne Church Adult Choir and the University of Rochester Chamber Singers

Two of Rochester’s finest choral ensembles join forces for a varied program of sacred and secular music, culminating with great English cathedral choral music for two choirs.

 

Friday, May 19, 8:00 PM: vocal concert by Colleen Liggett, Schola Feminarum, and Musica Transatlantica (pre-concert lecture at 7:30)

St. Anne Church Cantor and Early music specialist Colleen Liggett presents Music from Before: Songs of Prophecy and Springtime, a program of music for solo voice and vocal ensembles under her direction featuring Lassus’ Sibylline Prophecies, Gregorian chant, and more.

 

* Tickets required.  Prices: Christopher Herrick: $10 • Chanticleer: $25.  Call (585) 271-3260 for advance purchase or print out and mail online ticket order form.  Deluxe Chanticleer tickets, which include special reserved parking and prime seating, and an invitation to a private post-concert wine & hors d'oeuvres reception, are available for $100.  All other concerts have a suggested donation of $10.  

 

Music at Saint Anne is a concert series of organ, choral, vocal, and chamber music at Saint Anne Church.

All concerts are handicapped accessible, include free parking, and are followed by a reception.
