Chorus Novus
Chorus Novus is a 24-member
Rochester-based choral group that specializes in singing a wide
range of chant and liturgical music from the Catholic tradition.
The group was formed
in 2002 with members from the former Sacred Heart Cathedral choir
in Rochester, NY. Directed by Terry Keach, Chorus Novus
has sung at various liturgical events in the Rochester region, including
an annual Advent or Epiphany "Lessons and Carols" at Our Lady of
Victory and St. Anne churches in Rochester, and St. Mary's Church
in Canandaigua, as well as a Tenebrae service at Our Lady of Victory
Church in 2004.
Many of its members have performed
for Pope John Paul II during a 1993 Rome Pilgrimage, and have sung
at Our Lady Queen of the World Cathedral during a Montreal Pilgrimage
in 1998. Chorus Novus is presently in residence at St. Anne Church
in Rochester, and many of its members also sing in the St. Anne
Church choir. |
